2019年11月27日，美国Lee Academy高级中学(上海校区)的全体师生及家长共聚一堂庆祝美国传统节日—感恩节。在美国，感恩节是家人团聚的日子，在那天家庭成员会从世界各地赶回家，与家人团聚在一起，感恩生命中的点滴。

On November 27, 2019, ALAIS students, parents, and teachers celebrated the American traditional holiday Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is an important family holiday in the US, when families gather from around the country to give thanks for everything in their lives.

美国Lee Academy高级中学(上海校区)欢庆感恩节

ALAIS的学生会、家委会和学校三方协作，在感恩节的前一天举办了隆重的感恩节庆祝活动。学生、家长和老师选择不同的烹饪小组进行美食制作，有做火鸡的、牛肉的、猪肉的，也有做蔬菜水果色拉和土豆泥的，大家忙的不亦乐乎。

The ALAIS Student Council, the Parents Committee, and the school worked closely together to celebrate and give thanks with a festive Thanksgiving feast. Students, parents, and teachers divided into cooking teams to prepare traditional dishes like turkey, beef, pork, vegetables, mashed potatoes, and salad.

在12年级主厨Tom Zhang的领导下，学生们制定菜单、列出所需食材，在活动前一天，由一位老师带领着浩浩荡荡地来到麦德龙超市开始了他们的食物大采购。家长们也贡献出家里的烹饪用具带到学校供大家使用，当然家长们也在活动那天大显身手展现了各自的烹饪才华。

Under the leadership of executive chef Tom Zhang (grade 12), students selected the recipes, set the menu, and visited Metro supermarket the day before the event to purchase all of the ingredients. Parents brought cooking appliances and utensils and their own cooking expertise to contribute to the overall success of the Thanksgiving celebration.

在中午大餐开始前，Holt校长向学生们介绍了感恩节的由来，告诉大家感恩节这天是美国土著居民与英国清教徒分享食物的日子，同时校长也表达了对他家人的感谢，以及作为ALAIS一员的感恩之情。接着我校中方校长Jessie女士和老师们都发表了各自的感恩节感言。

Before the feast, Principal Holt introduced the origin of the Thanksgiving holiday – a day during colonial America when the Native Americans brought a meal to a community of Europeans who were struggling to grow enough food to feed themselves. Principal Holt then offered his own thanks for his family and being a part of the ALAIS community, and then asked teachers and Director Ye to share what they are most thankful for.

午餐开始了，大家享用火鸡大餐，沙朗牛排配有蔬菜、土豆泥、南瓜派等甜品的同时，也对自己身边的朋友、老师、家人表达了感谢之情。

During the meal, students, parents, and teachers were encouraged to tell one another what they are thankful for while feasting on they turkey, sirloin, vegetables, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pies, and an assortment of other desserts, all prepared by them.

ALAIS是一个大家庭，感恩节为我们这个大家庭的团聚提供了机会，我们家校紧密合作，成功地举办了此次活动。大家聚在一起，庆祝感恩节，感恩我们虽然来自五湖四海，却在ALAIS相聚成为亲密的家人和朋友。

At ALAIS, we all consider ourselves a big family, and Thanksgiving gave us the opportunity to gather from all parts of the country and world to celebrate Thanksgiving and give thanks for all of the blessings in our lives. The celebration demonstrated how smoothly and effectively the ALAIS family – students, parents, and teachers – work together to celebrate this important American tradition.
