美国Lee Academy高级中学（上影校区）

Denise Huang是我校11年级学生，她不仅在领导力和学术成就上表现特别凸出，同时也非常热衷于社会活动，这恰巧也正是我们ALAIS重视的。Denise Huang是一位狂热的网球爱好者，同时在我校学生会担任学生会主席一职。更让人欣喜的是在最近一次SAT考试中，她进行了次尝试，就取得了数学800分(满分800分)，总分1540分(满分1600分)的好成绩。同时，托福首次考试成绩为110(满分120分)。

Denise Huang is a grade 11 student at ALAIS who exemplifies the qualities of leadership, academic achievement, and commitment to giving back to the community that we value at ALAIS. She is an avid tennis player, the President of the Student Council, and recently earned a 1540 on the SAT with a perfect score of 800 on math. Just as impressive, Denise scored 110 in her first attempt in the TOEFL exam.

Principal Josh: Describe a typical day in your life.

Josh校长：可否描述一下你日常的一天?

Denise: I have two schedules that I follow at different times – test preparation and exercise. On test prep days, I get up at around 6:20am. During the daytime, I have my classes and find any time possible to do more practice tests and my homework. On exercise days, I go jogging in the morning from 5:50 a.m. to 6:45am, then I jog back to the dorm to take a shower before I go to school.

Denise：我有两个时间表，分为考试准备日和网球体能训练日。在考试准备日，我会在早上6:20左右起床，到学校上课、写作业，花费更多的时间在功课上。然而在网球体能训练日，我在早上5:50-6:45进行早锻炼，然后跑步回到宿舍洗个澡，元气满满的开始一天的学习生活。

Principal Josh: How did you develop such a strong sense of self-discipline and self-motivation?

Josh校长：你是如何做到自律并且自我驱动的?

Denise: I’m working hard for myself because, first, I want to attend my dream school Johns Hopkins University Medical School or Hong Kong University, [to study medicine] . . . Beyond university, I hope to be a surgeon. There are so many critically ill people around the world who need life-saving care that only experienced surgeons can correct, so I want to use my skills and knowledge to help these people.

Denise：我明白我现在所有的努力都是为了我自己，为实现我现阶段的梦想--约翰霍普金斯大学医学院或香港大学医学院，因为我想成为一名外科医生，世界上有那么多病危的人需要帮助，经验丰富的外科医生可以帮助他们恢复健康，拯救生命，所以我希望以后用我的技能和知识来帮助这些人，所以我知道我现在必须用尽全力去追求并且实现我的梦想。

Principal Josh: How would you compare your education at Lee Academy to other schools you have attended?

Josh校长：你觉得Lee Academy和你之前的学校会有怎么样的区别?

Denise: I prefer the education I receive in Lee Academy [over my traditional Chinese middle school]. First, Lee Academy allows more freedom for me to manage my time. Second, teachers at Lee Academy are closer to me. I always go find my teachers at school to either chat with them or ask them questions about their classes .Third, there are more opportunities available at Lee Academy. Here, I have had the chance to be Student Council President and to organize many activities.

Denise：对比之前体制内的初中，我更喜欢现在Lee Academy的教学模式。首先，Lee Academy在个人时间安排上给了我们学生更多的自由;第二，在Lee Academy，师生的关系更加贴近，在学校我们可以找到我们各个学科的老师，可以在学术上进行提问交流，更可以像朋友一样聊聊天，觉得非常自在。

Principal Josh: What aspect of Lee Academy has benefited you the most for your future plans and goals?

Josh校长：Lee Academy在哪方面对你的未来安排有益?

Denise: The education of Lee Academy has taught me how to manage my time and motivate myself despite all distractions. These two abilities have benefited me a lot.

Denise：Lee Academy的教育使我学会了如何管理自己的时间并且排除纷杂事务始终激励自己。

Principal Josh: What advice do you have for other students to help them learn self-motivation and self-discipline?

Josh校长：在自律以及自我驱动方面，你对我们其它学生有什么好的建议吗?

Denise: I would say the most powerful source of motivation is a dream. Mine is attending Johns Hopkins University Medical School or HKU and contribute to the world as a surgeon. Everyone must have their passion, so they can set a long-term goal for themselves.

Denise：我只能说的动力就是梦想。好比我的梦想是考入约翰霍普金斯大学或香港大学医学院，作为一名外科医生回馈社会，其他同学应该也拥有各自的梦想以及追逐梦想的热情。
