I have been a Principal in China for over six years. In the United States, there is no official day to celebrate the importance of teachers in educating our children.

身为校长，这是我在中国的第六年。正如大家所知，在美国并没有正式的节日来为我们可敬的教师们进行庆祝。

In fact, many teachers selflessly do their work knowing they will receive very little appreciation from students or parents.

但是在中国，我们有教师节这样的日子，来感谢教师们的谆谆教诲和他们对孩子们的无私奉献。

It was refreshing for me, my first year as a school principal in China, therefore, to witness the celebration of teachers and their importance in educating young Chinese men and women for future success.

我依然记得我在中国当校长的年，这是我次体验中国的教师节，那天真真实实地给了我极大的触动，让我亲眼目睹了教师作为一个灵魂的工程师的深远意义，他们孜孜不倦的滋养着一代又一代的中国孩子。

I am truly honored this school year to be part of the celebration of the exceptional teachers at ALAIS who work hard all day – preparing lessons, teaching, marking assignments, and serving as role models for our students.

我感到非常荣幸今天可以作为ALAIS的一员来欢庆教师节，我们的教师们忙于备课、上课、批改作业的同时，更是在学习生活中做孩子们的榜样。

The students’ thoughtful planning and leading of the event has left a long-last impression on me and our teachers of the importance of the work teachers do every day of the school year.

今天孩子们精心准备的活动给了我们全体教师职工超大的惊喜，更让我深刻地感受到了孩子们的热情，我想我们身为老师正如太阳，温暖孩子并点燃他们的梦想。
